Probability and Statistics in Everyday Life (SHE128.01)
Vacancies
Every day we may read the probability of rain, that there is some treatment likely to improve our health, or a favourite food may not be a good thing. The latest CPI reveals cost of living pressures, seasonally adjusted retail sales, new building approvals, or GDP growth provide indicators of the state of the economy.
In these sessions we will discuss probability, what it is and how it's measured, how to separate good studies from poor ones, and consider how some of our key statistical indicators are constructed.
The path discussion takes will be determined by the interest of participants.
