Yoga for Healthy Ageing (Y4HA) is an evidence-based Harvard Health yoga course for building flexibility, agility, balance and strength for any age and level of experience, with a focus on seniors and older adults. Yoga Australia says there is a wealth of evidence-based research showing that yoga promotes healthy ageing and the treatment and therapy of a wide range of conditions. There are proven benefits of yoga for your physical and mental health such as improved cardiovascular health, increased joint mobility, improved respiratory efficiency, enhanced memory and concentration, as well as relief of symptoms and conditions such as sleep problems, chronic pain, anxiety, depression and stress. Classes run for 10 week terms. The Y4HA course includes gentle spinal movement, breathing exercises, and modified yoga poses that are adaptable and accessible for any age and ability with a focus on seniors and older adults.

Venue:Canberra Seniors Centre, Turner
Costs:$12.00 per class. Classes will run for 10 week terms with a discounted term price of $120 (the equivalent of $12 per class)
Classes are 75 minutes long. Free parking is available.
Student Materials:Please bring your yoga mat, yoga blocks and strap for a safe and supportive practice. (Please arrive early to settle on your mat and prepare for class.)
