Discovering & Enjoying Classical Music (Term 3) - Early 20th C Music (M132.01)
Vacancies
The music of the 20th C saw more divergent styles and contrasting ideas than any prior period. Although music continued to be composed in the Romantic style, it was at the beginning of the century that the course for all of these varying developments was set. This early period is particularly remarkable for the number of major composers with hugely different styles and sounds. We will listen to a wide range of music including that of composers such as Elgar, Debussy, Mahler, Strauss and Stravinsky.
