World Music - A Journey Through Music Diversity (M116.05)
Vacancies
The course is intended as an introduction to the music of other cultures. The assumption is that people who participate will have a pre-existing enthusiasm for World music and may wish to share with others in the group. This is not however, a requirement. During 2024 some of the presentations done by course members included: Slavic music, musicians of Senegal, cajun & zydeco music, western swing, tango, pan pipes, Miriam Makeba, world music connections of Paul Weller & Amy Winehouse. NB none of us are musicologists – it's about enjoying the music.
