Behind the Museum Display (H266.01)
Limited Vacancies
What goes on behind a museum display?
This course looks behind the scenes at a museum - how and why objects come into the museum, how they are looked after and how curators use them to tell particular stories. Objects can tell a myriad of stories about history, including some of the difficult stories of our society.
We also discuss how exhibitions are presented and how curators communicate stories to the public.
This is participatory exploration of how museums work, including group discussions and a visit to an exhibition to see how our theories work in practice.
