We all experienced the Twentieth Century, the era of many of humanities' greatest achievements and most catastrophic disasters. This unit explores the century's unique character and the forces that shaped momentous events, including three global wars, the Great Depression and the Space Race. As well, it will trace the emergence of various trends including political, social, economic and cultural innovations such as democracy, authoritarianism, feminism, neo-liberalism, racism, modernism and pop music.
Suitable for members who have not formally studied History recently.
