This course will examine the causes and consequences of several key turning points in Australia's political history. These include: the formation of the two party system after Federation; forming an alliance with the United States; post-war reconstruction; the end of the White Australia Policy; the impact of social movements in the 1960s and 1970s; and the reform era of the 1980s and 1990s.
