We visit Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, three vassal states of the ex-Soviet Union. We will travel through Pakistan and cross the border into China's Xinjiang Province meet the Uighurs and visit the westernmost city in China [Kashgar], before moving on. We will consider the struggle between Russia and Great Britain for primacy in Central Asia during the 19th Century, before advancing 150 years and immersing ourselves in the present day. We will consider the present-day trials and tribulations we encounter during the journey.
