Traveller's Tales - Roads to the Isles (H136.54)
Vacancies
Our journey is to the northern Isles of Great Britain. We will be visiting the Inner & Outer Hebrides [including St Kilda], the Shetlands & Orkneys and several small subsidiary islands. We will consider the historical and social landscapes, the geography, the people and their survival through periods of conflict between the Picts, Gaels & Vikings and then the Clans and the Government, including the background to the massive migrations generated by the Clearances, with landlords forcing the people from the land where they had lived for centuries.
