The Opium Poppy and I—Illicit Drugs Policy (CUA086.01)
Vacancies
An illustrated talk on illicit drugs policy, based on my experience as a UN official in Pakistan, working against the production of opium there and in neighbouring Afghanistan; a greater concern than its production was its conversion to heroin in Khyber Agency, in the then North West Frontier Province of Pakistan.
After leaving the UN, I published two articles on international illicit drugs policy, the first arguing the impossibility of stopping supply, the second addressing the harm done by the war on drugs.
I have aimed to produce a colourful talk, drawing on my experiences. However, samples are not provided.
