Mentors Needed for School Volunteer Program ACT
7 July 2025
The School Volunteer Program ACT connects mature age adults as volunteers to work with young people in schools.
The Program is seeking volunteers who can spare an hour a week and who enjoy spending time with kids.
If you have some spare time and are wanting to find a way to give back to your local community, this could suit you.
You just need one hour per week availability.
We need mentors to
- assist students to build meccano models
- help struggling readers and/or students who are lacking confidence.
You will need to have lots of patience and a current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
The next Information Session for potential volunteers is taking place on Monday, July 7 commencing at 10:00am.
In addition, as many volunteers work with students who are struggling readers, a separate workshop for volunteers wanting to help in this way is scheduled for Friday, 11 July 11am to 1pm.
Both the Information Session and the workshop will be held at the Hedley Beare Centre, 51 Fremantle Dr, Stirling, ACT.
For further information or to book a place at the Information Session and/or the Workshop please contact Nola on 0434537555 or
