Workshop - Thriving Without Driving
12 May 2025
Access Canberra,Dickson and COTA Hughes
Retirement from driving is a substantial life change, which research has shown to negatively impact on the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of older adults. Older adults report that educational programs and information are beneficial in supporting them to plan for and retire from driving.
To meet this need, the Australian Catholic University is conducting free workshops for ACT residents who are 65+, live in the ACT and are planning to or have recently retired from driving. The workshops will provide information and strategies to support this life transition. Research about the effectiveness of these workshops will inform the development of a free online toolkit to support retirement from driving.
Workshops will be held on:
- Mon 12th May, 1:30pm, Access Canberra
- Tues 13th May, 1:30pm, COTA ACT (Hughes Community Centre)
- Wed 18th June, 1:30pm, COTA ACT (Hughes Community Centre)
