Courses

U3A courses cover a wide range of subjects and interests including:

Courses are restricted to financial members only and, with few exceptions, are generally held between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Some activities, such as our lunchtime forums which are co-hosted with COTA, are also open to the general public (see the Activities tab).

A list of all courses currently available can be viewed here. For full details about courses on offer or to enrol in a course, you need to become a member of U3A. Many of the courses are very popular, so not all courses in the list will have vacancies.

How to enrol in a course

Membership of U3A enables you to enrol in courses and take part in other activities, including a range of travel opportunities, outings and walks, forums and film screenings. Most require potential participants to email or phone the course leader or convener on or after the date shown in the Courses Listing.

Courses are located at various places across Canberra and some are held in Queanbeyan and Yass. The three venues most widely used are the U3A rooms at Hughes Community Centre, the Cook Community Hub and our the Flynn Community Hub, but other classes are held in libraries, community centres, clubs and church premises.

Interested in presenting a course?

U3A always welcomes proposals for new courses from people who have interests or skills in particular fields and would like to share them with their peers. In fact, we depend on it! If you are interested in joining U3A and presenting a course, you can find out more information here.

We welcome your comments and feedback via the U3A ACT Facebook site.
